We've been busy bees in Acorn Class over the last few weeks! As well as continuing our English and maths core work, we've been taking part in our outdoor learning activities, sensory room sessions and life-skills lessons.

We've also been learning Christmas carols for the annual church service and our songs for the upcoming Young Voices performance.

What a busy first week back!

We've been very creative this week when learning about Bonfire Night and Remembrance Day.

We also enjoyed a visit to a local sensory room. We can't wait to go back!

We have been busy bees in Acorn this week!

In maths, we have continued our learning on place value. In English/PSHE, we have been looking at emotions and how to identify our feelings and those of others.

Here are some photos of us having a PE session on the apparatus. We've also enjoyed lots of art activities including printing with vegetables.

What a fun-filled week!

This week we have been learning about Hull Fair. We've been thinking about our senses and what we see, hear, smell, taste and touch at the fair.

We've had lots of fun in Forest School and even had a special visit from our very own weather man "Jeff Jefferson".

This week, we have been looking at a new book "Toys in space." We have been describing the characters, making our own alien and sequencing the story.

Next week we are going to plan and have a party - just like they do in the story!

We also enjoyed 'Wear it Green Day' for Macmillan. Thank you for coming to see us and sharing some cake.

This week we have been working towards creating a poster for our lost toys. Look at our amazing work!

We have also been working hard at our spellings and building on our place value knowledge.

Well done Acorn Class.

We've had a lovely week in Acorn Class. Our routines appear to be established now and the children are responding well to the new timetable.

In maths, we have been looking at place value and in English we have been working on the book 'Lost in the Toy Museum'. We experienced a game of 'hide and seek' just like in the story and found a box of lost toys! There was a buzz of excitement that day!

Our trip to the library this week didn't go as planned due to an unexpected library closure, but quick thinking from Miss Bilton saw Acorn Class visit a local cafe instead. There were lots of smiles when the children returned - despite the terrible weather!

A lovely week Acorn, well done.

What an amazing start to the new school year! Acorn class have welcomed me with open arms and I'm enjoying getting to know them properly again.

We have spent the week getting used to each other, learning our new routines and developing our class expectations. We've also completed some baseline assessments and have had lots of fun learning through play.

Our first topic of Toys is now underway and I'm sure our days will be full of fun!
