What is the School Council?

The school council take part in lots of activities including:

  • Listening to the concerns and views of other pupils;
  • Representing those concerns to Mrs Grannon, Mrs Coates and other adults;

How to become a School Councillor

Every new year in September we hold our School Council Elections. Each class from year 2 - year 6 elects two representatives to become part of the school council. When you are elected you receive a pin badge for you to wear during the school day. This way everyone knows who you are and who represents the student voice.

Being a school councillor is a very responsible position as you have to have a lot of sensible ideas and sometimes have to do things in your lunch times. It is your chance to play an important part in our school community. You may feel a little nervous about putting yourself up for election but it is exciting to see what happens when people share their ideas.

If you think you would like to represent your class, but missed out there is always the opportunity the following year.

School Council Surgeries

Our School Councillors will be available 1 break time each week to take suggestions and answer questions. We hope that this will inspire the next generation of School Councillors to have an active role in school life as well as giving our children an opportunity to have their voices heard.
