Would you like to spread the joy of reading?
Following our parent forum meeting on reading before Christmas, we would like to open up the opportunity for parents (or grandparents) who have a little time to spare each week to become reading volunteers at school.
Reading is such an important skill and reading regularly with an adult is one of the best ways of encouraging and helping children to progress. Sadly, increasing numbers of children do not have an adult at home who reads with them and so we would like to increase the opportunities for children to have this experience at school.
If you have a little time to spare each week and would be interested in helping our children in this way then please download an application form below. Because this role involves working with children, you will need to have a DBS check (school will meet the cost of this) and provide a couple of references. This is to ensure that all our children are kept safe.
If you are interested then please fill in the application and of course do send a message or come and have a chat with us if you have any questions.
At Preston Primary School, we're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Check. Shortlisted candidates will also be subject to online searches for publicly available information.
We promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects our diverse society.
